Story Behind The Song One afternoon in 2014 I had just closed from church and was walking down the Eighth Ave in Manhattan. Just when I made the bend onto Thirty Fourth Street, I heard as it were and very clear as day the sounds of trumpets. There wasn’t any band on the street and there wasn’t any concert in the far or near distance. This was a sound coming from the depth of my spirit, I quickly pulled out my cell phone and started recording as I heard. Those are the same trumpets you now have the priviledge of hearing at the beginning and all through this song. By the time I made it to the train hub on Thirty Fourth Herald Street station, a fresh download of song has come from heaven. I will spend the next couple of months writing and tweaking and waiting on the Lord for the opportune time to produce it. One will quickly realize soon after listening a few minutes into this song that it’s a full fledge praise and worship song, fully loaded with the truth of God’s word. Talking about knowing that God is faithful who has called, He’s calling out to everyone, every nation, every tribe and tongue. The instrumentation and vocal rendering sounds like having Deitrick Haddon and Bishop Hezekiah Walker do a praise and worship mash up in an African voice. I pray this song blesses you and becomes the churches anthem, pointing us back to the Christian’s true identity, purpose and calling. Every had is needed on the field, every plow needs a hand, the harvest is truly plenteous but the laborers are few, He’s calling us! Dedication I dedicate this song, to honor the life and ministry of Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, who’s life mission is to challenge people to work for the Lord.
:: The Lord’s Call Lyrics by Jesse Crosby Mantey ::
(1 Corinthians 2:9, 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Revelation 7:9, Ephesians 1:16-18)
Verse
No eyes have seen
What the Lord He has for us
No ears have heard
Of the plans He has for us
No heart can conceive
What the Lord He has for us
To everyone who loves the Lord
Hear Him calling

Chorus
He’s calling us to walk
Where we’ve never walked before
He’s calling us walk
In a Christ like faith
He’s calling us to walk
In the confidence of His word
He’s calling us to come
To a place Where nothing,
oh nothing Will be impossible for us

Refrain
From Africa to Asia
America, South America
His calling us! His calling us! His calling us!

Repeat Chorus

Bridge
The Lord God of Israel
He’s calling out to all nations
Come and let us
Go before this great and mighty King – 2x

Refrain
Faithful is He who has called us (3x)
He’s calling every nation
He’s calling every tribe
He’s calling every tongue
He’s calling us

Repeat Chorus
