Ladders on our Journey

In the midst of all these snakes, God has positioned important ladders or helpers at different points on our journey. 5 ladders or people God positions on our way to reduce our pain and accelerate our progress.

May God send divine counsellors, connectors, confirmed, critics and coaches to cut short your pain and help you on your journey.

1. The Counsellor (Jethro, Naaman’s maid).
A godly counsellor brings you the mind of God about an issue, opportunity or challenge confronting you.
Counsellors shorten your journey by pointing you to a godly solution or a more excellent way to handle a major issue in your life.
Jethro gave Moses counsel on leadership and delegation. Naaman’s maid pointed him to divine healing and cut short years of pain.
Key of Access to Counsellor: Humility to receive godly counsel.

2. Connector (Pharaoh’s Butler, Saul’s Servant, Joseph of Arimathea).
God positions connectors in influential places in advance and prepares them until your season of manifestation.
Why is a connector a ladder? He or she must speak a word in high places at the right time to activate your rapid promotion and transformation.
Key of Access to Connector:
You must have met them earlier and showed them kindness and competence.

3. Confirmer (Peter).

They affirm a profound truth that is central to your life but which may not yet have manifested. Their intervention often points people to what they may not yet have seen. The voice of the affirmer often confirms the new direction of your life. The affirmer could be a junior, contemporary or senior.
Key of Access to Confirmer:
Sensitivity to the Kairos moment and readiness to embrace it and move. Jesus affirmed Peter’s confession.

4. Critic (Nathan and Samuel).

These are divine policemen and women God places in your life. No matter how much you rise, they are not intimidated or impressed by your titles, position, wealth and public acclaim. They are constructive critics who call you to order and hold you accountable to God’s word.

Key of Access to Critic:

Allow your Samuel or Nathan access to your palace and your heart.

“So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say such things!””

5. Coach (Naomi, Mordecai and Elijah)
Your coach or mentor knows more about your strengths and weaknesses than you do. He or she travels the journey with you and patiently guides you at every step. The coach is able to discern your big moment of opportunity and to show you exactly what to do. Submitting to your mentor’s direction can turn a lifetime of pain into a beautiful ending.
Key of Access to Coach:
There will be moments when you’ll be tempted to walk away from what may seem like a difficult mentoring process. Your Elijah or Naomi may even suggest that you have done enough and try to discourage you from following. You must picture the end and stay the course.
